Fire Your Marketing Consultant!
I apologize if your marketing consultant is your best friend or
your spouse's third cousin. However, if you're a small business
owner who offers a professional service, chances are you are
your marketing consultant. And unless your business is marketing,
there's a good chance
-
you're extremely frustrated by marketing your service
-
you don't enjoy marketing
-
you believe you have to be pushy or egotistical to get new
clients and you don't like that idea
-
you've read a book or two on small business marketing but you
haven't made any real progress
-
you don't have the time to create a marketing strategy, even if
you actually knew what that meant
But
you do know
-
you'd like to have a plan and work the plan
-
you'd like to see increased revenue as a result
-
you'd like someone who's been there to guide you through the
process and recommend what's right for you and your specific
situation
-
you'd like to get new clients using strategies and techniques
which play to your strengths
-
you'd like to spend the bulk of your time serving your clients,
not dreaming up marketing ideas
-
something has to change in order for all that to happen

The Company Doctor specializes in taking the
stress out of marketing. I work with professional service providers to
accomplish the results they want, the way they want. For example:
Challenge: A community bank wanted
to increase it's loan offerings. In order to loan more money, they
needed to increase their deposits. Because banking is a highly regulated
industry, there were certain constraints.
Result:
After assessing the
organization and its capabilities, current offerings, their customers
and their competition, together we developed a deposit offering which attracted
$6.4 million in cold, hard cash.
Challenge:
A private software
development company wanted to improve the quality of its products and
services to position itself for an initial public offering.
Result: A quality
assessment revealed both immediate and longer term opportunities for
improvement. Steady progress on their quality goals allowed this company
to be well-positioned and ready for an
attractive merger opportunity.
Challenge: A
cash-strapped newspaper publisher needed to achieve a specific monthly
revenue goal.
Result: I made
several quick and easy-to-implement recommendations which
immediately improved cash flow. Then I met
with the sales team and developed a media kit that paid for itself with
the very first use.
Challenge: A
non-profit was in a slump. Membership was falling and their
reputation was quickly becoming one of not caring about its members.
Result: I
worked with the board of directors and developed a marketing
strategy which included offering members a great deal of value in a
variety of forms. I also developed and implemented a consistent
marketing campaign. Membership and enthusiasm
both increased along with their
reputation.
Challenge: Another
non-profit wanted to increase its fundraising revenues, without
constantly tapping into the same sources of support.
Result: With a
little "tweaking" of their thought processes, a more polished look,
and new materials for their fundraising events, they
soon doubled their annual fundraising
revenues.

"Working in partnership with our
organization, you not only significantly increased our membership, but
developed a targeted, sought-after publication to entice residents to
move to our area. You even created order out of the chaos that was our
financial reporting. You’re like a one-woman conglomerate – bringing
marketing skills, organizational skills, financial skills and excellent
people skills to the table – all in one neat package. You’re a
powerhouse of ideas and action!"

How can I consistently
create these kinds of results? I listen very attentively and ask
lots of questions. Then I listen some more. You know what you do better
than anyone, and chances are you do it better than anyone. My job is to
help you get that message to more of your ideal clients. Not sure who
your ideal client is? Not to worry - I'll help you discover and define
your ideal client. Then I'll work with you to get as many of them as
you can stand.
Plus, I'll introduce you
to at least two sources of additional revenue most service providers
don't even think of, but they can fatten your bank account quickly.
